Solidarity, Sportsmanship, and Fairness Shining on Kwun Tong Swimming Pool
The 43rd Swimming Gala of Delia Group of Schools was held at Kwun Tong Swimming Pool on May 9, 2019. Mr. Kenneth Fok Kai Kong JP, Vice President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China was our Guest of Honour. The Opening Ceremony started with the entrance of the athletes. After the school brass band solemnly played the national anthem and the school song in the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, the President, Ms Chor Siu Har declared the commencement of the gala, then the vice-president, Ms Leung Sau Ling officiated the start of the first event.
The Swimming Gala was comprised of 33 events. The efforts of the athletes and their coaches were demonstrated through the overwhelming performance of the swimmers. The sportsmanship and solidarity amongst the boys and girls earned thunderous applause. The cheerleading teams showed their support to the contestants with sophisticated dances and enthusiastic cheers. The gala climaxed with the event “Alumni 4X50M Freestyle Relay”.
In the closing ceremony, our Guest of Honour, Mr. Kenneth Fok Kai Kong JP presented the trophies and delivered an inspirational address. With strict adherence to solidarity, sportsmanship and fairness, the Swimming Gala was a great success.
