Hipwoers Crowned Champions in Universal Robotics Challenge 2021
Great news! Our school has once again crowned champion in a STEM competition – Universal Robotics Challenge 2021 (Senior Secondary Category). The goal of this challenge is to inspire students to develop programming skills, creativity, innovation, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. The challenge of this year is to design and programmme a robot to swap blocks in different locations using the least amount of time. As the winners of the Challenge, Bhullar Jobanpreet Singh, Jasminder-Singh and Flores John Lexus will be representing Hong Kong in the world’s final in Japan.
Hipwoers Bagged Awards at the RoboSTEAM Asia Friendly Competition 2021
In order to broaden students’ horizons, our school nominated a couple of senior forms students to enter the annual RoboSTEAM Asia Friendly Competition this year. Inspired by the current global situation, the competition focused on building W-Prevention System to raise the public awareness of the COVID-19 pandemic. Contestants had to design a robot that can pick up different groups of people and send them to respective areas such as specialized hospitals, treatment facilities, and quarantine facilities.
URC Little Inventors - Epidemic Prevention Robot Sharing Session at the Hong Kong Book Fair 2021
After participating in the Hong Kong URC 2021 Idea Contest Competition, 6 of the participating students were invited to share their works at URC Little Inventors - Epidemic Prevention Robot Sharing Session at the Hong Kong Book Fair 2021. Students were thrilled to share their own inventions and learning experience (from developing the general ideas to building the robots, testing the codes to refining the prototypes) under the spotlight. Our Principal, Ms Lam, was one of the guest speakers sharing the highlights of DHW STREAM education and how our school has facilitated STREAM learning across all forms during the pandemic.
