The school views learning beyond classroom as important as learning in the classroom. Over the years, fostering and cultivating students’ independent learning skills and strategies were on the agenda of every member in the teaching faculty. Now, the school moves on to develop an e-learning platform known as iECŻDMSHW where all these concepts of self-access learning and learning beyond classroom can be exemplified in full swing. Thus, as a leap forward, on 29th April, a staff training was organized to engage all of our teaching staff in the iECŻDMSHW Curriculum Design Competition where they would design a curriculum that would encompass all the rationales, curriculum objectives, guiding principles and other nuts and bolts in their proposed curriculum design. We hope to materialize and unveil all the series soon.

Separately, on 7th April, all teaching faculties in the school designed their professional development day based on their departmental needs which were in line with school developmental priority. Miss Connie Lau, Head of Reading Committee, embarked on a STEM and E-learning & Reading Journey to South Korea where she was able to get acquaint with new technologies in e-learning and their current state of play of STEM education in junior secondary education.

(* iECŻDMSHW is an abbreviation for Interactive Extended Curriculum of Delia Memorial School Hip Wo while “Ż” is a self-coined symbol for the Chinese character “之” meaning “of”)
